From North to South, an exceptional circuit with cycling paths that will facilitate your journey ! This itinerary offers a concentration of Southern Burgundy charms : Romanesque art is present in each village, chateaux are witnesses to the passing of time and prestigious vineyards are following you all along the way.

1st Day: Arrival in Beaune
The undisputed capital of Burgundy, Beaune is also one of France's prettiest towns, a source equally of art and of history: its hospital, crowned by a roof of glazed tiles, is known throughout the world, and its wine museum is a must! Accommodation in 3* hotel and dinner in a local restaurant.

2nd Day: Beaune – Chassay-le-Camp | 47 km
A stage passing via the prestigious white wines of the “Côte de Beaune” vineyards such as Meursault, Puligny Montrachet or Chassagne Montrachet before reaching the Château of Rochepot : a magnificent 13th and 15th century fortress with roofs made of glazed tiles. Do not hesitate to make a stop in Nolay, a charming village with a covered market. Then cycle on the cycling path “Canal du Centre”. Dinner and accommodation in 3* hotel.

3rd Day: Chassay-le-Camp – St Boil | 44 km
Use the “Voie Verte” to reach Chagny before riding through the “Côte Chalonnaise” vineyards. You can take a look at the château de Rully, just before arriving in Mercurey. Don't hesitate to stop to visit a local wine producer and sample a glass of "Mercurey” red wine !. Cycle through the vineyards via Buxy, a typical medieval town. Dinner and accommodation in 3* hotel.

4th Day: St Boil – Cluny | 38 km or 28 km
You will admire along the “Voie Verte” the beautiful landscapes of the South Burgundy. Among the treasures : the chateau de Cormatin and its gardens, unique in France for its exceptionally well-preserved interiors from the reign of Louis 13th (1628). Then arrive in the beautiful town of Cluny, well known for the vestiges of its Romanesque Abbey founded in 910 ! Accommodation in 3* hotel in B&B.

5th Day: Cluny – Tournus | 54 km
This last stage will bring you to Berzé-le-Chatel and its mediaeval chateau overlooking the vineyards and the beautiful landscapes that the French poet Lamartine used to admire. Then leave the “Voie Verte” to stroll along the small country roads from charming villages to private chateaux. Arrive in Tournus, splendid Romanesque city! Dinner and accommodation in 3* hotel.

1st Day: Arrival in Beaune

Still traveling through the famous Burgundy vineyards, you will reach the Ouche Valley and cross the Canal de Bourgogne to arrive in Châteauneuf, a picturesque old village perched on high, protected by its château dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries! Dinner and accommodation in 2* hotel.

3rd Day: Châteauneuf en Auxois – Semur en Auxois | 56 km
This route leads you through Pouilly en Auxois then follows the canal of Burgundy on a peaceful ride at the rhythm of slow house boats cruises to reach Semur en Auxois. Dinner and accommodation in 3* hotel.

4th Day: Semur en Auxois - Vézelay | 62 km
A ride through the countryside wich leads you to Epoisse known for its very tasty cheese. Further on, situated on the top of a hill, Vézelay appears in front of you and guides you towards the wonderful roman basilica classified as world heritage by UNESCO. Outside this monument, a beautiful view over the valley and the vineyards. Enjoy a moment of serenity in the garden of this basilica showing you the deep nature of this area. Accommodation in 2* hotel and dinner in a local restaurant.

5th Day: Vézelay - Saulieu | 50 km
After the peaceful countryside of the Burgundy area you will reach the regional park of Morvan. Enjoy the natural landscapes surrounding you and continue in the direction of Saulieu. This small village has been highlight thanks to the very famous French Chef ‘Bernard Loiseau’ where is its high level gastronomic restaurant. Dinner and accommodation in 2* hotel.

6th Day: Saulieu - Autun | 50 km
Enjoy a ride through the valley along a small river. Discover typical small villages and the atmosphere of the French way of life in rural areas. You will pass the villages Chissay en Morvan and Lucenay l’Evêque proceeding to Autun. Autun is a city of culture, categorized as a city of art and history, with numerous testimonies of 2000 years of history. Dinner and accommodation in 2* hotel.

7th Day: Autun - Beaune | 63 km
Today's journey takes you back to the vineyards via the Renaissance Château de Sully and the pretty town Nolay: a charming village which has preserved its 14th-century covered market, and bordered by the “Hautes Côtes de Beaune” vineyards. Continue via the Château de La Rochepot (a magnificent fortress with glazed tile roofs), and the “Côte de Beaune”, famous for its prestigious white wines such as Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, etc … a last taste of sheer Burgundy delight! Accommodation in 3* hotel and dinner in a local restaurant.
